The General Assembly of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation has re-elected His Excellency Mr. Nasser bin Ghanim Al-Khelaifi as President of the Federation by acclamation for a new four-year term.
The General Assembly also renewed confidence in Mr. Tariq Zainal, who was re-elected by acclamation as Secretary General of the Federation.
In addition, the General Assembly re-elected the members of the Federation’s Board of Directors by acclamation: His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Mr. Khalid Al-Khelaifi, Mr. Youssef Al-Obaidly, Mr. Mohammed Al-Subaie, and Mr. Karim Alami.
This took place during the General Assembly meeting held this morning at the Khalifa International Complex, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Nasser bin Ghanim Al-Khelaifi and attended by the Secretary General and members of the Board of Directors.
On this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Nasser bin Ghanim Al-Khelaifi expressed his gratitude to the members of the General Assembly for renewing their confidence in him for a new term, as well as to the Qatar Olympic Committee for its continued support of the Federation. He emphasized that all parties will continue their dedicated efforts to further develop the various sports under the Federation’s umbrella, support Qatari athletes, and build upon the achievements realized both locally and internationally over the past years.
Mr. Al-Khelaifi stated:
“We have witnessed many remarkable achievements in recent years, but our work is not yet complete. We must continue our commitment to advancing tennis, squash, padel, and badminton to new heights, both domestically and internationally, while also contributing to the development of society.”
For his part, Mr. Tariq Zainal, Secretary General of the Federation, commented:
“It is an honor to receive this great confidence from all members of the General Assembly, and it is also a great responsibility to continue working with seriousness and dedication to develop the various sports under the Federation’s umbrella at all levels.”
He added:
“Under the leadership of His Excellency Mr. Nasser bin Ghanim Al-Khelaifi, the Federation has achieved numerous accomplishments over the past period, reflecting joint efforts and teamwork. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to further advancing all sports governed by the Federation through innovative development programs and by supporting Qatari athletes in their professional and international journeys.”
In conclusion, he expressed his aspiration for a new period of dedicated work and collective progress for the benefit of sports in Qatar.
The agenda of the ordinary General Assembly meeting of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation included the approval of the minutes of the previous meeting, a review of the achievements and events organized by the Federation during the past year, and the presentation of goals for the upcoming period.
