Qatar to Host the FIP World Cup in 2026 and 2028

Doha strengthens its position as a global hub for padel with two editions of the sport’s most prestigious national team competition.

Doha, Qatar: The International Padel Federation (FIP) has officially awarded Qatar the hosting rights for the 2026 and 2028 editions of the FIP World Cup, marking another significant milestone in the country’s growing presence on the international padel stage.

The announcement reflects the confidence of the international padel community in Qatar’s ability to deliver world-class sporting events and further reinforces Doha’s reputation as a leading destination for the sport.

The FIP World Cup Qatar 2026 will take place from 2 to 7 November 2026 at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex, bringing together 16 men’s national teams and 16 women’s national teams competing for the prestigious world titles.

The 2026 championship will feature a record prize fund of €1.2 million, distributed equally between the men’s and women’s competitions. The prize fund will increase to €1.35 million for the 2028 edition, reflecting the continued growth and international significance of the competition.

A Proven Destination for World-Class Padel

Qatar’s selection to host both editions builds on its successful track record of staging some of the sport’s most prestigious international tournaments.

Over recent years, Doha has welcomed the world’s leading players through major events, including the Premier Padel Qatar Major, the 2021 and 2024 World Padel Championships, and the inaugural FIP Asia Padel Cup in 2025.

The Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex has become a familiar destination for international padel, offering world-class facilities and extensive experience in hosting elite sporting competitions.

The decision to award Qatar the 2026 and 2028 editions recognizes the country’s advanced sporting infrastructure, organizational expertise, high standards of event delivery, and commitment to the continued development of padel.

Supporting the Growth of Padel in Qatar

Hosting the FIP World Cup represents more than another international sporting milestone. It offers an opportunity to further develop padel locally, inspire young athletes, and strengthen the sport’s connection with the wider community.

Under the leadership of H.E. Nasser bin Ghanim Al Khelaifi, President of the Qatar Padel Federation, Qatar has continued to expand its contribution to the development of padel through international partnerships, major tournaments, and support for national athletes.

The country’s progress is also reflected in the achievements of its national team, highlighted by the historic gold medal won by brothers Rashed and Mashari Nawaf at the 2026 Asian Games, the first men’s padel gold medal awarded in the competition’s history.

These achievements demonstrate Qatar’s growing ambitions, not only as an international host but also as a competitive force in the sport.

Looking Ahead to 2026 and 2028

The upcoming FIP World Cups will provide Qatar with another opportunity to welcome the international padel community and showcase the country’s passion for the sport.

With the world’s leading national teams arriving in Doha, the championships are expected to deliver exciting competition while further promoting padel across Qatar and the wider region.

By securing two consecutive editions of the FIP World Cup, Qatar continues to build on its sporting legacy and contribute to the international growth of padel, reinforcing its position as one of the sport’s leading global destinations.
